Coaching
With a strengths-based approach rooted in positive psychology, we offer 1:1, confidential support to scholars at every career stage. As critical thinking partners, we help clients articulate and move towards authentic goals.
Mentoring up
Get support navigating challenges you are facing with your faculty advisors, as well as broader strategies for finding and cultivating strong mentors who can help you succeed and flourish in graduate school and beyond.
International Student Support
A vast percentage of graduate students are international, yet programs often do not fully acclimate you to a U.S. context. Get help navigating common academic expectations (eg participating in seminar discussions and writing academic papers); cultural differences and barriers; accessing resources at your institution; and learning how to live and work in a foreign country.
Navigating Grad School
Get help with any and all challenges arising as a graduate student at any stage of an MA, PhD, or professional school program. We can help you navigate competing pressures of school and family; balance teaching and research; mitigate feelings of imposter stress or perfectionism; and cultivate effective reading, writing, and research skills.
For Neurodivergent Students
We can help you navigate the unique challenges of experiencing grad school as a neurodivergent learner - whether you identify as having ADHD, being on the autism spectrum, having anxiety or depression, or a learning disability. We can support you whether or not you have a formal diagnosis, and we can help you cultivate effective tools and strategies to succeed in your program and thrive.
Coaching
We coach FACULTY to help you
teach and mentor.
Mentoring your Grad Students
Mentoring is a learned skill that takes knowledge and practice, distinct from the equally important work of advising and teaching. We can coach you to mentor students ethically and effectively, helping you - and your mentees - set and reach goals, forge relationships that will last, and flourish.
Supporting STEM Grad Students in the Lab
We understand that working with students in a lab setting brings distinctive demands: we can help you create a vibrant, collaborative lab culture for postdocs, grad students, and undergrads, helping you to mentor trainees intentionally and effectively, so that they, in turn, become effective and life-long exemplary mentors in the future.
Teaching Grad Courses
While faculty are often expected to know intuitively how to teach graduate seminars, labs, and clinics, teaching graduate students is a learned skill, and it is distinct from teaching undergraduates. We can partner with you to design, develop, and implement your courses to best support students at this critical early stage of their programs and evolving professional identities.
Supporting Students with Specific Needs
Graduate students come to grad school with specific strengths, challenges, and life experiences. They may be new to the U.S., have young children or other family obligations, be a first-generation college grad, and/or have a disability that affects their life and learning. We "train the trainers," offering coaching tools and support for you to best support your students.
